Yeah. Me too. Should I cash in my Starbucks stock before it is too late?

It goes back to Jospeh Smith and his wife, Emma. She had to clean up after Church leadership training meetings. Men were using tobacco and spitting on the floor and so forth. Joseph sensed the need to take this problem to the Lord in prayer and recived a revelation known today as the Word of Wisdom where in the Lord laid out many health promoting behaviors He wanted members to follow. Strong drink, (alcohol), smoking and what was later interpreted to mean coffee and tea were included. There are other things too. Today we understand the destructive properties of caffeine and avoid it as a matter of practical and healthy living. Back then, it was a matter of faith.

I would say read http://www.jefflindsay.com/WWisdom.shtml about what is known as “The Word of Wisdom,” a Revelation by Mormon prophet Joseph Smith Jr. It contains the admonition “And again, hot drinks are not for the body or belly,” that has been interpreted as coffee.
